| Hi folks, I've just started using SyncToy 2 and it seems to be an excellent tool for keeping files synchronised between my Xp desktop and Vista laptop via a memory stick. Now though, each time I open an .xls or .doc file on the laptop it is opened as read-only. I can't see any Rs in the file attributes and a command line DIR looking for read-only files gets no hits. Is this something weird just on my machine or have you seen it too? More importantly - could you fix it? Thanks in advance. Chris | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2008

| From looking around on the internet I have come to the conclusion that this is simply one of the 'features' of sync toy. Anyone know of synchronising software that doesn't set invisible read-only flags? C | Junior Member Join Date: Jun 2008
