System crash on boot up.

Posted: 07-09-2003, 08:43 AM
Hi all.

system has been happily running XP for a awhile. I am now
upgrading with a Yamaha scsi CD-RW and an Adaptec AHA-
2940AU Pci SCSI card.

After install Scsi card and CDRW recognised by system Bios
and XP detects and loads drivers for them when it first
runs.

On restart XP locks up while booting.

Last known config reboot or safe reboot works but drivers
not loading for scsi devices.

Why? any ideas

Make sure both devices (card and drive) are terminated
properly, and are set to have different SCSI i.d. numbers.

Hi,

Have you tried the Adaptec site for the Win2K drivers.
This may work, try this site:

http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/sup...erdetail.html?
sess=no&language=English+US&cat=/Product/AHA-2940AU&filekey
=w2k_v100b_pci_drvs.exe

Good luck,

Sleepless
