didnt show an OS) up until the 3rd one i got the msg. and after that i
stil cant get vista to load propertly not even on safe mode and in any
of the options left.

when i load the ISO and clicked on restore the last time. well it told
me they couldnt fixed it manually and now i get the green bar and
microsoft corporation logo for hours. and it doesnt load..can you help
me ....please!!!?

It sounds like your sister's hard drive has died. Other hardware components
could also be involved but the hard drive would be the first suspect. Your
sister should call Sony tech support. While she has them on the phone, she
should also order a replacement restore disk set. This is very inexpensive.
If the computer is out of warranty, your sister should take the computer to
a qualified local computer tech (not a BigComputerStore/GeekSquad type of
place) and have them replace the hard drive. It will still be smart for her
to order the restore disk set from Sony.

If the restore DVD did not work
than you will need to send the unit in for repair.
It could be a bad harddrive or a RAM problem

If you already have the restore disk set your sister doesn't need to get it
again. Sorry that I missed that part. I can't answer your question about
the cost because I live in the US. If the laptop is under warranty, it
won't cost anything but a phone call and time. If the laptop isn't under
warranty, then the hard drive cost depends on the size and I don't know
that. Here's a link to NewEgg's page about laptop hard drives so you can
get an idea of prices. Of course, I have no idea what's available and at
what cost where you live.

http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCateg...op-Hard-Drives

I also can't answer your question about Sony support in your country. Go to
Sony's website and see.

If the hard drive has failed, formatting it will be useless. It will need to
be replaced. Again, please don't forget that I haven't seen the machine and
some other hardware component(s) could be bad. Your sister needs to either
call Sony tech support or take the machine into a good shop for diagnosis
and repair.

Hardware sometimes fails. It's not a complicated issue. And Windows
didn't cause it.

As Mr. Raddick said, hardware fails. Stuff breaks. Usually if hardware is
going to fail it will do so quite quickly or else go for years. I've had
hard drives fail out of the box and one of my own machines had its 1.5
year-old hard drive fail last week. This is illustrative of why backing up
one's data regularly is so important.
