system standby failure messages

How do I fix the following problems?
1. The device driver for the "communications Port (com1)
device is preventing the machine from entering standby.
Please cl;ose all applications and try again. If the
problem persists you may need to update this device.
Where do I find the updated driver?
2. Q Agent:QAGENT.EXE Unable to locate component. This
application failed to start because QWWIN.dll was not
found. Re-installing the application may fix this
problem. I am not positive which application is being
referred to.
