System Tray Windows Icons

I couldn't find any ways to remove the icons of the Network and Sound volume
in control panel unlike with XP.
Could someone could tell me what to untick in msconfig or what registry key
i have to modify, Thanks you.

Right click an empty spot on the Taskbar, click Properties, click the
Notification Area (tab) > under System icons, uncheck the icons you want to
remove.

can you give me a logical explaination WHY they decided to treat these
icons differently that the others? Why cant you hide them?

This is another example of the effort MS puts in to confuse its users....

Because the are main system icons that are mostly to be used or interacted
regularly. So if you want to turn them on/off quickly, they are not jumbled
up with others such as those found under the Customize Notification Icons
behaviour dialog.

I dont like it... you cannot have it hidden and then press the arrow to see
them later..
you either have them stuck there or not showing at all....

I disagree with this change of having 2 ways for the notification icons.
Its a stupid change that will confuse.. it would be better to do other
changes where they
are truly needed.
