Target Designer crashes with time stamp error

I'm trying to run Target Designer to add components to my XP Embedded image,
but whenever i try to run it, i get an error.
The splash screen pops up, but then an error window shows that says "An
internal error occured while checking install time stamp". The status
indicator on te splash screen shows eight bars and "Initialising user
preferences..."
After i click ok to the error, i get the usual "MS Target Designer has
encountered an error... blah, blah, blah..."

Does anyone have any ideas?

The tools check to see if there has been an update (by looking at the
time stamp of the msi install). Obviously something happened to yours.
Uninstall and resintall the tools.

Thanks for the help. Reinstalling did the trick! Now it starts up fine.
