Target Designer error - CMI errorcode=0x800a01c9

Posted: 08-30-2004, 04:38 PM
Hi

When trying to open a SLX file that contains the "Win32 API - User - Hotfix
Q328310" component I get a CMI error with the code= 0x800a01c9. I've tried
to removed and reinstall the Q328310 update to the database, but with no
luck :-(

Does anyone have a clue to what's wrong ????

Anders,

What version of the WSH installed on your dev system? If you check, it
should be 5.6 at least.
You can download it from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Also, search in archive for similar problems:

Hi

I've allready installed the latest version of the WSH, just in case it was
the problem - but no it wasn't. I've read the articles from google, but it
looks like that the error comes in many different cases.

The problem I have is, after I have installed all the latest QFE's to the
database, and builded an image with them, I can't open the SLX file latere
when the SLX file contains the "Win32 API - User - Hotfix Q328310". But it
is not posible to avoid this component, because a lot of other component
requires is. I also tried to to check the "Ask for confirmation before
opening an upgradable configuration" in the Target Designers Options menu,
but this does not help either- it's still not posible to open the SLX file.

I small thing about the "Win32 API - User - Hotfix Q328310" is that it is
marked as it should be updated, we looking in the Target Designer (It has
the arrow-up at is icon), but it is not posible to upgrade it - nothing
seams to happen we trying to upgrade it.

best regards

Anders Olsen

Anders,

You obviously have some problems with the "Win32 API - User - Hotfix Q328310" component.
Have you tried removing it from the database? can you open the SLX then?
If you can, save it without the component. Then install that QFE and add the component to the SLX configuration manually.

Btw, did you recently go from Eval XPe Tools to Non Eval by any chance?
