Position the cursor at any edge of that window and double click to get the
full window back.

Default Task Manager

When I open Task Manager, it only stays on the screen for
a few seconds. How do I get the Task Manager to stay on
the screen longer?

Default Task Manager

This is a posting from MVP Kelly:

**This worm disables NAV, Msconfig, Regedit and Task
Manager:
http://www.bitdefender.com/bd/site/virusinfo.php?
menu_id=1&v_id=114

And this one:
http://securityresponse.symantec.com.../venc/data/w32
..spybot.worm.html

Rename regedit.exe to regedit.com then:

Download then Merge the edit on line 251 then delete all
the files mentioned
in the above link. http://www.kellys-korner-

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\System

Look in the right pane for a value called DisableTaskMgr. If it exists, its
probably set to 1. Double click it and set it to 0 (zero). If it doesn't
exist, right click in the right pane, select New DWORD value. Name it
DisableTaskMgr and leave it set at 0.

Rich,

The task manager behavior is symptomatic of a virus. See
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_t.htm#tm for information on trouble
shooting this issue. For System Restore, ridding yourself of the virus may
solve this problem. You may also want to check your System Restore settings
(Control Panel, System, System Restore) to ensure they're correct.

Default Task Manager

When I right click on the taskbar and click on task
manager, it stays on a few seconds and goes away. I am
trying to end the Worm process according to the Symantec
directions, but my task manager won't let me. Is there
another way to bring up the Task Manager window?

Default TASK MANAGER

Ctrl Alt Del will start the task manager, but it only
stays up for about 1-2 seconds and then shuts down. What
can i do to fix this?
