Hi Scott,

Other than the beta.com virus that disables the TM:

For Pro, Go to Start/Run and type in: gpedit.msc
Expand User config/Admin templates/System/CAD options.
There is a setting here that can toggle that option on/off.

Hey Kelly,
I am using the home edition of xp so gpedit is not
available. I will be searchng for the beta.com virus.
Could there be any other programs (tweakui, windows
cofigurator) that would turn this off?
thanks

Hey Kelly,
I tried the reg file with the same results. I have been
looking closer at my system and some other things are
happening that may be related to this...
1-cannot access the task manager..
2-Can't get norton sytem works to start and stay on (when
I clik on the icon from the start menu or the taskbar it
comes up for a split second then disappears. I
uninstalled norton and installed mcafees antivirus with
almost the same results- up for a second then gone. I re-
installed norton and did the virus scan by individual HD
with nothing coming up.
3-before i un/re-installed norton and mcafee I looked at
the windows update page and there were 3 or 4 updates for
me and now it says I am up to date... I didn't install
the updates.I am getting kind of frustrated as it seems
like something is changng settings on my machine- I am
the only one that uses this computer
Thanks for any help/insight you can provide

Hi Scott,

Do me a favor, see if you have these files listed under run:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr ent
Version\Run\CyberWolf

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr ent
Version\Run\Windows Kernel

This worm disables NAV, Msconfig, Regedit and Task Manager:
http://www.bitdefender.com/bd/site/v..._id=1&v_id=114

Download then Merge the edit on line 251 then delete all the files mentioned
in the above link. http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
