Taskbar Color

Is there any way to lighten the shade of the taskbar so that it matches the
frames of the windows? I think it looks crappy with the near solid shades on
the taskbar.

Wait until Stardock releases WindowBlinds for Vista, then you can customize
just about anything.

taskbar color

how can i change the taskbar color?

It is black and i cannot see a downloaders icon good, where the download
rate is with black color.

please advise me

Right click on the desktop, select "personalize". Click "Windows Color and
Appearance". Select a pre-mixed color, or mix one yourself by clicking "Show
color mixer".

Well, if you don't keep windows maximized, there is a bit of colored
translucency.

You are talking about having a direct x 9 capable card.

On other systems you cannot do this

Open a single instance of a program, such as Internet Explorer. Next, click
on the taskbar and select "Show windows side by side". Now everytime you
open Internet Explorer, it will open in full screen mode, but with
transparency (borders and taskbar). Do that for all the programs/windows you
would like to have that behavior.

this is the same like resizing the window being fullscreen, but not with the
fulscreen option.

Anyway, as i understand this is a bug of vista, that should be corrected.

Vista should change its usability based on how the users works, and not
users work their way of working for vista.

For such an advanced OS, I don't see any reason why not have color setting
for taskbar
