Taskbar help

Posted: 07-27-2003, 05:00 PM
I am having one helluva time with the taskbar. Some weeks ago, it doubled
its normal vertical size and I couldn't figure out how to get it back to
normal. Little sliders all over the place that did everything but work as I
expected. After a lot of mindless poking and prodding and dragging, it went
back to normal.
Tonight, the little box for changing languages and IMEs on my computer
disappeared, as did the controls for the voice inputs. I haven't checked to
see if I can get the dictation mode to come up some other way, but I sure
would like to know whether I have a software problem or an operator problem.
Is there a good explanation on the Web somewhere of how the taskbar is
supposed to work and how to troubleshoot it?
Thanks.

taskbar help
Posted: 08-24-2003, 03:30 AM
Hello,
I'm running Windows XP home and having trouble with my
taskbar. When the inactive icons are hidden, there
appears a button with "<<" on it, which should enable me
to see the inactive applications. However, when I click in
it to scroll these icons out, they just immediately scroll
back before I even have a chance to see what's hidden
under there. Does anyone have any solutions?

Thank you,

Jade

There is another way. When this 'rubber band' is stretched, quickly place
the mouse pointer over the chevron or any of the now exposed icons. This
will 'jam' the retracting band. I discovered this by accident!
