taskbar problem

Posted: 08-10-2003, 11:40 AM
I got 2 lines of taskbar space, the first (upper) has the
windows START button, quicklaunch and open programs apear
here. The second (lower), is my own serie of icons, BUT
it will not go further to the left then where the
quicklaunch bar begins in the upper bar.

How can I get the second bar to move ALL the way to the
left of the screen ?

I tried to drag to under the windows START button and
past the beginning of the quicklaunch bar, but im not
allowed to do so.

My WinXP taskbar stopped remembering changes done to it.
I tried restarting after making changes - doesn't work.
What causes taskbar not to remember changes made to it?
Thanks

Did you 'lock the taskbar' after making the changes.
Check the box in Taskbar properties.

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\Policies\Explore
r

Look in the right pane for a value called NoSaveSettings. If it exists, it
should be set to 0. If not, double click it and change it to 0 (zero). If
it doesn't exist, right click in a blank area of the right pane, select New,
DWord value and name it NoSaveSettings. Leave it at 0. You may also want to

It appears that there are 2 on the taskbar and that they are taking up the
entire length. What happens if you resize your toolbars? Using your mouse,
grab the dotted line that appears just before the icons second set of icons
(eyedropper and 2 others) and drag it towards the left.

Taskbar problem
Posted: 02-06-2004, 07:38 AM
Hello all! The problem is as follows. On my Win XP SP1
machine, upon startup the language bar is running 2, 3 or
even 4 times and it's position on the task bar is always
wrong (not next to the tray area). When I close all
toolbars and I unlock the taskbar I can see a toolbar
that I cannot close.
Any ideas? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

P.S. From time to time the machine boots up normally,
meaning only one language bar on taskbar and no "secret"
toolbars.

I am having a problem with the taskbar appearing over my
program that is started auto when logged in. Does anyone
know a way of logging the startup process to see what
exacting if causing the problem. I have selected Always
of top and did not select Auto hide. The problem only
occurs when i remove the microsoft loopback adapter.
Thanks.
