taskbar slow to form new window bars

Posted: 11-06-2003, 07:07 PM
I am running Windows XP Professional with a Pentium IV
3.06 GHz and 1 GB of RAM. Recently the response time of
my taskbar has slowed dramatically when new windows are
created - for example, when I start a new program, the
program icon appears on the task bar in a program bar
that is only half-formed. It takes two or three seconds
for the program bar to fully appear. This never used to
happen. Any ideas?
