TCP/IP port configuration error

Posted: 07-22-2004, 10:08 PM
Brother HL-5040 connected to XP home system. Successful TCP/IP ports
created on two W2k systems and printing fine. Can't create on new
clean install of XP pro with SP1. Get "the port name is not
valid...". Printer share name is brotherh and is in the printer box,
port name is \\betty1\brotherh .

I've tried all sorts of other names, etc., but no luck. Works fine on
the XP pro system as a network printer.

Clues would be appreciated?
