Textbox Controls - Double-clicking a word highlights unnecessary additional character

Posted: 03-08-2006, 08:19 AM
An age-old annoyance in every version of Windows:

WHY does double-clicking on a word in any textbox or similar control also
highlight the trailing space?? (or any other non alphanumeric character)

Does anyone ever need that extra unwanted character selected when they want
to quickly copy or edit a word??? ugh

quick-highlighting should NOT select any characters that are not part of the
word you double-click on.
