The domain name 'whatever.com' is not a valid DNS name

Posted: 08-23-2006, 10:54 PM
Hi,
I am getting the error messages "Domain Suffix is not valid suffix" and
"The domain name 'whatever.com' is not a valid DNS name" when I type in DNS
settings under "Append these DNS Suffixes" and "Register this connections's
adresses in DNS" respectively.
I am running Build 5472 64bit

Any suggestions?
TIA

Anders

I've had the same problem with build 5472 32 bit. I didn't have the problem
with 5384 32 bit. I had to add the dns search suffixes to my DHCP server
which is a kludge to say the least. I submitted a bug report but didn't hear
anything back. I'm assuming that as it worked previously it is something
peculiar to 5472.

These were known issues with Build 5472 but they have been fixed in the
latest build.
