Is there anyway I can make the movie a DVD?

Is there any upgrade that would give me the option to
save the movie I made to a DVD instead of a CD. Or is
there anyway I can change the file type so I can burn it
to dvd with another program?

There isn't an upgrade for MovieMaker itself but you can publish your
timeline from MovieMaker to a file which you can then use with a separate
DVD video authoring package.

Some DVD video packages will work with a Windows Media (WMV) file but
another approach that works for a bunch of people is to publish your
timeline to a DV-AVI file. When you're on the Movie Settings page choose
"Other Settings" and select DV-AVI from the list (if Other Settings isn't
visible then click "Show more choices..."). Once you have the published
video file import it into your DVD Video Burning software package of choice
and go from there.

Hope this helps

Do you happen to know if DVD publishing software will compress the DV-AVI file? Those files tend to get big and with an hours worth of video, you can end up with a 12GB file. 12G dosen't really fit on a 4.5GB DVD

Thanks!

Yes, an MPEG2 file will be made from the DV-AVI file during the prep phase
for the DVD.... it'll be much smaller and fit on the disc.
