Is there a final word!? Norton Ghost and the EWF

Posted: 03-08-2006, 06:17 AM
I have sucessfully written a configured XPe image with Norton Ghost 2003 and
deployed it with a USB to another Thin Client (HP T5700). The only issue,
as I have seen referenced a few times in searching, is that the EWF status
is unknown on the clone and you can't enable disable, etc.

Is there a final word on a fix for that?

go to command prompt and try running this command

rundll32 ewfdll.dll,ConfigureEwf Start

Command is case sensitive

When you prepare an image, always prepare by disabling the EWF.

The best way to make images is using the -IR switch with norton ghost, this
makes a raw disk copy of your target disk. EWF works and there are now
problems. The only thong you have to keep in mind is that the source and
target drive have to be the same size.
