Is there an "off-line" switch?

Posted: 06-15-2004, 08:39 AM
When I'm working within Outlook Express, I can go off-
line.

I'd like to be able to do that when I log off from MSN
Explorer. Is there some way to do that without opening
up OE just to click "off-line"?

(XP, 5.1, Home Edition)

Hello
I am not sure I understand, maybe it is to early, not enough coffee.
Are you on dial-up or broadband.
Open your browser, go to the top, File>Work Offline

Hope This Helps

Hi,

What is the relation between outlook express and msn explorer.

When u open outloook it checks for internet to download the default profile's mail.
You can double click the online icon in the lower right side of the application to switch between offline and online.

I use MSN e-mail *without* OE. (I use OE only for the e-
mail going to my ISP). (I prefer MSN Explorer to
Internet Explorer.) So, I often do not even open OE when
I turn on the computer to surf.

When I log onto MSN.com, it asks me if I want to go on-
line. What I'd like to know is where to find the "off-
line" switch, *without* opening up OE just for that
purpose.

Hi, Haus!

H:>I am not sure I understand, maybe it is to early, not
enough coffee. Are you on dial-up or broadband.

R: Broadband, highspeed cable hookup

H: Open your browser, go to the top, File>Work Offline

R: I don't open my browser via Comcast, I almost always
use MSN Explorer. I don't have my MSN e-mail account
hooked up to OE (because I don't want to); so, I often
don't have OE open when I'm just browsing using MSN
Explorer.

I know how to go off-line from within OE. What I'm
trying to find is the "Work Offline" switch within MSN
Explorer, if there is one.

Perhaps you should be asking this question in the
microsoft.public.msn.discussion newsgroup as the MSN Explorer is different
in format from Internet Explorer.

I usually don't have a problem posting in the right
place, however, posting in "Windows XP accessibility" was
the only even vaguely "on target" topic I could think of
using. Obviously, MSN Explorer is different from IE --
but, that's not my issue. I have only been succesful
finding an "off-line" switch in Outlook Express; I would
like to find if there is one within MSN Explorer, as I
almost never log onto the internet using IE.

Would you please be so kind as to post a link to the
specific sub-group where you think I might find someone
who knows the answer?

Go to the following link, scroll the list on the left to msn.discussion,
select it and try your question there:
