Are there places where Windows keeps networking information for peer-to-peer networks?

Hi,

I need to restore my computer to its state before it was networked on a
peer-to-peer basis with another computer. When I've had to do this before,
I've always found it impossible to re-establish the network on my own, and
I've had to pay a technician to do it for me. Are there places where
Windows keeps the network information, so that I can copy the info to use it
when I'm ready to re-establish the network?
