Thumbs.db problems

thumbnails in my subweb folder the thumbnails take forever to come up. When
I publish the folder from scratch (rebuild the subweb) the thumbnails come
up fine until a few days later when I add new items and run into the same
problems. I have tried publishing allowing the thumbs.db to be updated and
not be updated with the same results. Most of the times when it wants to
update the thumbs.db a message comes back that thumbs.db.tmp can not be
found by the server extentions. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the
frontpage extentions. Still no luck. The thumbnails always work fine in the
folder I am publishing from.
Any ideas as to what could be happening?
