Sorry if this is obvious but if the thumping noise is coming directly from
the hardware (not a sound coming through the speakers), suspect a hardware
problem: a damaged device that makes a thumping noise when operating. Since
the typing problem appears to be directly related to when the noise occurs,
I would expect it to go away when the underlying hardware problem is fixed.

Maybe it's trying to counteract the yelling - it probably doesn't care for
being yelled at any more than we do. Please lose the caps it's rude and
makes your posts incredibly hard to read.

Bobby

Some CD's will bump around in a CD drive.. if you are using CD-R's or
CD-RW's, applying a label using a label applicator such that the label is
properly centred and balanced, will sometimes overcome the problem..

It could also be a fan fighting the effects of dust and dirt build-up around
the fan casing or on the CPU heatsink..

When you find out what is causing the sound, perhaps you could come back to
this thread and tell us.. feedback is good for those that help, and also to
others who are just looking through..
