Whenever my computer boots up, or re-starts I always
notice that a tilde icon appears on my desktop. I delete
it, but it always returns when re-booting. It does not
seem to affect anything, but I am wondering if there is a
correction I should mwke

Apparently it's a bug with OE and the address book. You can delete it but it
will come back (apparently)
Microsoft are supposed to be looking at the problem

Charles;
The tilde is a result of this patch:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/...94/default.asp
The file is created when certain changes are made to your address
book.
The files can be safely deleted.
A search of Google shows many having the same harmless but possibly
annoying issue.

My understanding is that Microsoft is aware of the issue.
