Titles

Posted: 06-21-2004, 12:32 PM
Instead of narration, I am trying inserting sub titles on selected clip or clips. I am using the Ticker Tape animation but would like to resolve two aspects:
a. Can I slow down the ticker tape only and not the clip. Currently it is abit too fast to read comfortably?
b. Can I get rid of, or reduce the blank lead-in and end portions of the tape?
Thanks

In Sonic DVD I can place a title (to identify the location of a particular
picture) in a clip and adjust the font an size as required. I can then click
on the title and move it to a location in which I want it to appear e.g.
bottom right or left etc.

MM only puts the title in the middle of the clip, with minor adjustment
downwards, but to neither left nor right, and the font does not go small
enough.

Am I missing something, or is there a later version than 5.1 which you can
specify centre, bottom left to right etc?

There are left, center and right justification icons that will help you in
MM2.... but it doesn't have a feature for exact positioning.

I am trying to make my title run along the bottom of the screen while my
movie is playing. The only problem is I cant seem to get the line to appear
at the bottom of the page withouut repeatedly inserting a dot then enter
till the line reaches the bottom. Is there a way of dragging the line into
position?

No but you can use a different title animation such as the "Sub title"
animation or the "Ticker tape" animation.

I followed the Help advice and have gotten to the part where I can add a
title to my movie. The problem is, I don't have a Task button to select so I
can get to these features. Do I need an upgrade?

Version 1.1.2427.0

There are no Tools that I can find.

I have at the top of the window: File, Edit, View, Clip, Play, Help

Next level button images: New Project, Open Project, Save Project, Cut,
Copy, Paste, Delete, Toggle Clip Properties, Save Movie, Send, Record,
Up One Level, New Collection, Collections, Views

These are all of my options that I can see.

Sorry, but I don't have version 1.1 and
cannot experiment with it to find the
correct steps for you. Maybe someone
who still has the 1.1 version can offer
some assistance or you might wish
to download and install a newer version
of Movie Maker.

You can download version 2.0 from the
following link:

MovieMaker 2.0

And, if you want the current version 2.1
you can get it by installing SP2 for
Windows XP.
