Titles and Audio Sync

Posted: 01-10-2004, 06:00 PM
I insert titles into footage using mm2. All seems OK and I burn the project
to DVD using MY DVD. When I view the finished DVD, one of the titles has
made the audio on all the following footage to be out of sync, the same time
delay as the length of the title. Take this title out and the sync is fine.
The other titles cause no problem. I have experimented with different ways
of inserting titles and the sequence of adding footage afterward, but can't
work out why the difference! What is the right way to insert titles into
footage? It is a pity this is not covered in MM2 Help. Would appreciate
some help before I lose the will to live. Thanks Peter

There isn't a right or wrong way that I have run into.

What title style is it? Does that make a difference?
Is the title in the video track or is it in the overlay title track?
What profile are you saving the movie out to?

The titles are all "Fades, In and Out", and apart from the first one are
inserted by "Add Title before the selected clip on the storyboard". Most
have no effect on the audio sync, but I don't know why one does?

Are you saving WMV or AVI to burn to DVD?

Might sound silly to ask, but does the file you made with MM2 play OK in
Media Player?

Save from MM2 using "Save as Movie File..." Format is .wmv. The finished
MM2 product is 100% OK in Media Player, with no sync difficulties. The out
of sync is after burning to DVD using MyDVD. Then is only footage after
certain titles, and then seems to be about the same delay in sound as the
length of the title which preceded it.

Sounds like a bug with MyDVD - you might want to go to Sonic's website and
ask in their newsgroup if anyone is having same issues.

I use MyDVD and have not seen this - but someone else may have. More people
there to check with.
