Too large a message to download

I am receiving a large email that has taken more than 24 hours to download.
Is there anyway to stop/delete this message and still receive other messages?

Yes. Connect to the server via webmail. If your provider
doesn't offer webmail access you can use http://mail2web.com.
Delete the offending message.
