Too many pictures in 'My Pictures' Folder?

Before, I have lots of images in the My Pictures folder, about 95. All would appear in the Display Properties in the Background list. Then i got more images, and then none of them appeared. Some simple experimenting showed that I could have up to 102 images and they would still appear in the background list, but at 103, none of them would show up at all (but the ones that came with Windows still appear).

Is this a bug, or is there a file limit for some reason? I would like to have all of those files appear in the list, is there some way to bypass this?
