Default Touchpad drivers

Hi All,

I've upgraded to windows xp home from windows me
I have a compaq presario 1700 notebook and since upgrading
I'm noticing that while im writing an email it will just
send without my doing so or while I'm reading a web page
it will automatically click over to the next page or even
highlight text without my doing so. I have a feeling
that XP does not have the right touchpad drivers for my
compaq. I don't think they are available. Anyone having
this problem or got any suggestions?.

Thanks

PETER

Default Re: Touchpad drivers

Check the HP website (since they took over HP).

Peter,

Install the drivers for the touchpad. Windows XP recognizes the touchpad as
a standard mouse. The correct touchpad drivers are available at:

ftp://ftp.synaptics.com/pub/drivers/US7_8_10W2K.zip

Compaq has a dedicated live chat support forum for your Presario
notebooks..Check out:

http://www.compaq.com/consumersupport/chat

Best of luck,
