Transcoding error causing freeze

Posted: 03-28-2006, 05:12 PM
Hi

I've tried using Nero Vision, Pinnacle DVD factory, Ulead Movie Factory and
even Microsoft Movie Maker to import MPEG 2 and/or AVI files and burn them on
to a DVD. The setup procedure works fine, but when I try to create the DVD my
computer freezes at the Trancoding stage and I have to reboot. This only
happens when trying to create a DVD from scratch - I have no problem copying
DVD's, or creating picture slide shows from scratch.

So far I've reinstaled windows - Replaced the graphics card - Updated the
mainboard drivers - and unplugged everything but the mouse and KB - I even
tried using a different mouse and KB - NO LUCK !!! Is driving me nuts.

Any suggestions as to what the problem might be would be very gratefully
received.

My system spec is: Windows XP SP2, Amd Athlon 2800+, VIA K7VT6 Motherboard,
1gb DDR ram, 200gig Hard drive.

Are you sure it is freezing and not just transcoding which could take some
time to do?

We spoke before I had same probs. Go into CMOS Advanced Cipset Setup and
change the frequency of your CPU to a lower setting. Try about 1230mhz to
begin with. Reboot and try to burn. Its worked for me.

I have used the WinAVI video converter for two years without any
problem. It not only can convert all formats to MPEG1/2, VCD, SVCD, and
DVD and also can burn to VCD, SVCD, or DVD disc.It can convert all
video formats to AVI/WMV/RM/ASF/Divx/Xvid with high quality and fast
speed.
You can visit this to know about it:

Wish you like it too.
