transfer of photos to PC

Posted: 07-01-2004, 04:35 AM
Hi,

I have a JVC GR-DVL520U Digital video camera. I was
using the windows ME OS and transferring still pictures
with a USB conncetion and never had a problem with it.

I am now running XP and I can't transfer my still
pictures using a USB connection. When I turn on the
camera I do see the USB/PC screen on the LCD display and
I also hear the "DING DONG" sound. So i guess the
connection is working fine.

There is no "removable storage device" for me to choose
in "my computer" which is where I use to retrieve my
pictures from.

does this mean the USB driver is not Working? Is there
any other way to retreive my photos from my camera? Any
help would be appreciated.

Karyn

I have the same problem.........i've contacted jvc, gateway, and anyone else
who will listen to me, and everyone says it's someone else's problem. If you
have found a fix to this, please post it! I desperatley need help. Spent a
lot of money on my camera, and i'm pretty ticked that I can't use it. The
computer recognizes it the device manager, but not my computer, so can't
upload. Please help!

=======================================
A Google search indicates that your JVC
Video Cameras use a MultiMedia Card /
SD Memory Card...for the still image files.

Seems to me a simple solution would be
to purchase a USB Memory Card reader.
