Transfer Wizard can't find computers on network

Posted: 02-09-2006, 01:05 AM
On my 3-computer Ethernet home network, I can find all computers in Network
Neighborhood, can transfer files between them, etc. However, when I attempt
to use the files and settings transfer wizard on an old computer, the wizard
says it "cannot locate your new computer." If I try it on the new computer,
the wizard doesn't even provide me with the option of transferring over the
network. I ordinarily run Zone Alarm, but turning Zone Alarm off on both
computers makes no difference. I've shared everything, right down to the
system files. The new computer uses an Athlon 64 processor and is running XP
Home. The computer from which I'm attempting to transfer uses a Pentium
processor and is running XP Professional. What is the cause of the problem?
