I do home inspections and have several blank reports i use, but they have
been done with Microsoft works word processor. If I buy microsoft word, can I
put my blank reports that I made with Works into Word ?

For most recent versions of Works, this would work. There's a chance that
you may have to tweak the formatting and spacing a bit to get it just right
but you shouldn't have to start from scratch to rebuild the form.
