trouble with internet connecting xp machine to the vista

I am not sure if it is a Vista problem or an XP problem.
I have a Vista machine that has a Sprint broadband card for interne
access and it is working fine.
I have a dlink router connecting my laptop w/ XP to the vista machine
This is working fine.
On allow access to the internet on the vista machine, turn off allowin
people to control of the enable and disable sharing.

I can access the vista machine and the shared folders with no problem

I have the internet gateway on the XP machine - it says DISABLED - whe
I click on it says CONNECTING and then it never does connect.

I have read, tried, retried everything and I know I am missin
something REALLY stupid and easy
But for the life of me I can not get the XP machine (I actually ahve
of them) to connect to the internet thru the VISTA.

What do I need to do?

Post the results of ipconfig /all on both computers may help.

Here is the IPCONFIG from all 3 machines.
We have the VISTA - which has the sprint broadband card and it work
fine.
The other 2 are both XP machines and neither one can access th
internet but can talk to each other fine.

Assuming you want to setup Vista as router or ICS, that doesn't work because
all XP computers default gateways point to the router not to Vista which
should be the gateway. what you need to do is setup the dlink router as a
switch and use Vista as DHCP assign TCP/IP settings to all XP computers.
