Default Turning off Parental Controls

Ok here it goes...I am NOT comp illiterate but I CAN NOT
figure out how to turn off the "Parental Controls" I'm not
even sure which Parental Control. I had no idea they were
even on. I have went into many files and checked the
levels, security levels etc...everything is looking fine
though. Where else & what else can I do here? This is
driving me absolutely nuts. I am a Paralegal that works
out of my home and I need into some very important sites.
I have a case that I'm due in Court on Monday. Someone
Please help me! I am also finding I am having a problem
downloading pretty much anything from the Web. It will
goto a page that states either "I'm Sorry. This page is
blocked by Parental Control" OR "The Page Could Not Be
Displayed". I'm also having a problem when trying to
download where I get a message that states my ActiveX
Controls are set wrong (I guess). I have checked my
Security Levels and everything looks again. Hope to hear
from someone soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Frustrated,
Kimberly

Default Re: Turning off Parental Controls

Hi Kimberly, sorry you have to go through distress... Let me try and help. I must translate from a Dutch WinXP implementation, so I hope I'm close enough...

Parental Control.

Go to Start, then Configuration, then Internet Options. In this window, go to tab 'Contents' (next to the 'Privacy' tab). In the top part of that tab you must find 'Parental Control'... It will be set to on. Click the button to set if off. Click button 'Apply'. Close window. Try again.

If you have bad luck then perhaps this will fail because an admin has give the setup an admin password. I have no solution for that then to contact the admin about this (if any). But hopefully this will not be the case.

ActiveX

Again same window as above. Go to tab 'Security'. Set zone to Internet. Click button 'Adapted level' (left from 'Standard level'). In the new window, set Security to normal (drop-down list). Click OK (closes window), click Apply, click OK. Try again.

Regards, Harry
