hidden files and folders" set in your folder options. I'm not sure deleting
them will have any effect, but you might want to leave them just to be sure,
it could affect how your desktop is displayed.
in case you're wondering how you have 2 files with the same name in the same
folder, they're not in the same folder. one is in your personal profile, the
other is in the "Public" profile ("All Users" on XP).
Not sure about the AV, though. you might try uninstalling it, then run the
installation program as administrator. be sure to post back here if it works
(or if it doesn't).
