Try to ping and do traceroute to adobe address. There you can see wether itsnetworking problem in os side or is it some weird routing which has Vista
involved.

I had this problem when the firewall was engaged on my router. Many peoplehave had problems with routers that have stateful packet inspection. In my
case, turning off SPI wasn't enough; when I turned off the firewall,
everything worked great, including accessing Adobe.

I can log onto the Adobe website including their file library. However Icannot utilize the program internal utility Adobe Updater in PS CS2 and
Bridge.
Yesterday a search of the Adobe Support Forum provided the answer. Adobe
Updater utilizes the browser and expects IE6, not beta IE7. Similiar to
online banking. Even the IE7 to IE6 spoof I use to access Wells Fargo's
online banking won't fool Adobe Updater.
