Seems the issue is with SP2 on XP which changes the behavior of th
anonymous login . It no longers is part of the "everyone" group thus n
longer has access to the printer on the remote machine. To return th
anonymous login to the everyone group change the registry entry on th
remote machine to 1

local_machine->system->currentcontrolset->current->
lsa -> everyoneincludesanonymou
