Unable to see XP computer wirelessly

Posted: 04-06-2007, 05:50 PM
I'm having trouble getting my 2 computers to see each other wirelessly on my
home network. I have a notebook running Vista and a PC running XP. The PC
is connected to my router by cable and my notebook is connected wirelessly.
I can connect to the internet with both and I can get the computers to ping
each other but I can't get the computers to see each other. I've disabled
firewalls, set workgroup name to be the same, and all other suggestions I've
seen here. Also, when I connect my notebook to the router with a cable I can
see other computers, file share, etc.

So is this an issue with my network not being set up correctly or is it a
Vista/XP issue?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Try this. turn off all firewall or security software, can you ping each other by IP? If yes, can you net use \\ipadress?
