| Hi as stated in the subject, i'm not able to view or change the owner of 3 files (non system files). I've no rights whatsoever, not even replacing the file. I've tried changing the owner via the gui and takeown, but nothing works. please advice | Guest

files are not in use and try again. If file permissions are inherited from the parent for these objects, you could try taking ownership of the container (folder) instead of the file. After changing ownership of the folder, the files should delete. If not, repeat taking ownership of the files themselves. If still having trouble, what version of Vista and where are these files located? Under your user or another? -- Sharon F MS-MVP ~ Windows Shell/User | Guest
