unattended installation over the network?

Posted: 02-27-2007, 08:27 PM
Hi folks!

I've created an unattended script using the Windows SIM tool. I'd like to
use it to perform an unattended installation of Vista over the network. Much
like I do with Win2k/XP - boot with a network client and kickoff
installation by passing the unattended script to the setup routine. I've
tried booting with Windows PE, mapping to a share with the Vista DVD
content, but I can't run the setup.exe file from Windows PE. It seems like
setup.exe only works when launching from a full version of Windows. Surely
there is a way to accomplish what I want and I've overlooked it!?

Thanks!

-Fred.
