Uninstalling Vista

Vista is having to many problems on my machine. Is there a simple way to
uninstall and go back to XP or do I have to format and start all over?

If you installed XP and Vista in a dual boot partition, yes, you can format
Vista's partition from within XP, but if installed it on the XP Partition, I
am afraid its a complete format. You have to boot from your XP CD to do so.

There is no way to roll back or uninstall Vista. It is not a program you
installed, you wrote a new operating system over your old one. Since I am
sure you were prudent, read all the instructions and made all the proper
backups before you did this, performing a fresh install of Windows XP should
be pain free, although it may be time consuming.

Good Luck!

there must be some way that you can uninstall it to roll back to xp, if you

you can format the drive, then the install of xp won't complain about there
being a newer version of windows on it

You cannot UNINSTALL Vista!

And, you probably cannot salvage what you lost
in your XP system.

You can probably boot withe the Vista DVD and
then delete any existing partition(s) on the
drive and do a clean install of Win XP.

Yeah, System Restore will restore the current operating system, not a
previous one. You should be able to re-install XP from the restoration CD;
but you must do the reinstall/format way, not the update way. Read the first
few paragraphs of Andre's blog for more information:
