Unknown file type

I was cleaning up some large files on my PC and found two
files, each 3.8 gb, called s22c.2 and s22c.3. They are
not listed on FILExt.com or anywhere for that matter.
Does anyone know what these are and if I can get rid of
them?
Thanks.

I think that's just a general type of extension. Some
different programs use that extension just for ease's
sake. There are programs which will split huge files into
smaller files, for example, and those smaller files are
named with that type of extension. There's no real way
for me to tell if they're important though, unless you go
through and find the program that they're attached to.
Good luck,

K

Thanks for your input. I think the file-splitting
explanation makes sense. I work with large files so it
would not be crazy to think that's it.

Either way, I don't want to delete them unless I know for
sure...I guess they stay for now. Thanks.
