Unsure of proceeding to install

Posted: 06-24-2006, 02:29 AM
I'm about to get a windows xp media center PC. I want to try out vista for a
little whil before I use the OS. I have the DVD ready, and a backup external
hard drive. Should I proceed? My system is this:

AMD 64 X2 Dual Core Processor (2.0 GHZ)
1 GB RAM
Nvidia Geforce 6100 Graphics
250 GB Hard Drive (unpartitioned- it's new, and i don't want to partition.
it has a recovery partition in it preinstalled)

By the way, would that recovery partition roll it back to XP?

yes us should,
i find it to be a better system, even though i was quite impressed with xp,
i think that vista has some good features, not that i can use everything, my
video card is not good enough for the glass effects, but thats also not my
main concern, it appears to be quite easy to use though

If you do not have a real XP CD/DVD, do NOT install Vista. Your restore
partition will likely NOT be accessible after you do.

If you insist, the you really MUST partition your drive and install Vista on
a separate partition. Do NOT upgrade XP.

Do NOT try this on your primary machine. It WILL likely fail at some point
and DESTROY all your data.

This is BETA.
