Update SATA Raid driver.

Posted: 10-27-2006, 06:06 PM
My card kicked it and I replaced the card which requires a different driver. I'm trying to get my pc up&running again. My problem is, that I can't
boot because the new SATA-Raid drivers are not compiled with the system installation. The boot process gets to the Windows logo and then I get a blue-screen for half a second. Anyone got any ideas on how I can install those drivers without reinstalling? The existing installation will boot on another PC that I have here so I have access to all the dir's.

Try to manually install using the add hardware wizard.

Boot from the XP CD, opt to do a repair install, at the appropriate time
push F6 and put the floppy with the new drivers in the floppy drive and the
setup program will load them.

Are you using Raid...? Or just want to use just the HD.

First - don't change your subject line.
Second - mind letting us in on what you did?
It could be useful for others who might do a search and find this archived
post in the decades to come.
