drive. This happens to me also, especially when I first
update the display card driver. Also , make sure you go to
windowsupdate and retrieve all the critical updates. there
are about 35 of them. Most noted is the SP1a express.
What I would normally do is to back up your documents,
pictures and multimedia. (Including any custom sound files
used) , then format the drive and do a fresh install of xp
from CD. Then add your custom sound files to the
windows/media folder. Then change any document file
locations in th registry after install is finished. Also
change the "headerfooter.headerfooter.1" subkey of
H_key_Classes_Root to (under /CLSID) {3050f6cd- ...
This is a MS error located for me by Norton Windoctor.
