Hello Vistians,
Funny thing happened on the way to the forum, today. In the past week I
have been having some problems with freezing and system blackouts after I
loaded Microsoft Business Manager as it loaded a older version of the .Net
Framework. I also loaded some experimental 3D applications from Microsoft
research that fried .Net more, and yesterday loaded the New Wacom Vista Beta
Drivers (which are very good) which pushed my system over the edge. I was
sure a reload was in order as the system would restart before it got to
login, and even in safe mode.
Instead, I decided to do a restore if possible and loaded the disk finding
out it was not an option, so I just upgraded over my current windows
install.
Well lo and behold it worked great! In the later versions it would have been
a mess and I would have had to reinstall all of my apps. Vista kept my
setting and apps and straightened out the mess. It is purring like a kitten.
Now I am not recommending this, but in a pinch it might be a viable last
resort. Just thought to share it.
