Make sure a virus isnt present in youre system. If all
is ok,you can install the xp cd,press a key to boot
to xp cd,go to repair,at the screen type:
FORMAT C: /FS:ntfs
C: being the hd,This will be a clean xp install,
ME doesnt contribute much to xp,when the format is done,
exit recovery, you be back to xp install screen.
