URGENT...few issues

I cannot change the filetype for ftp, http, https protocols in vista rc1! It
does not give the option to in default programs > set assocations. I want to
use firefox as default browser but it won't let me.

Also, how do I make it so that outlook 2003 opens new messages maximized
window when I click the little popup notificaiton on the bottom right? It
used to open up maximized in XP.

Also responding to html received emails is default to text format instead of
the html format the email came in from. How do I correct this?

Another problem: start menu does not show ALL the groups/folders/programs
even when choosing "explore all users". Why?

Question; how do I stop the annoying "windows needs your permission.." popup
box anytime I move a file or icon, or delete something?

1) I'm not sure, but vista doesn't seem to include protocol defaults yet.
Also, Firefox was aloud to set itself as the default when I tried it...
2) I don't know about office 2003, but try poking about in the settings, and
you should find something.
3) Same as above.
4) Your problem is caused by programs not installing links in the start
menu. If you want to create a link yourself, click on "explore all users,
go to programs, and put it there.
5) This is the UAC (User Account Control) To turn it off, go to the control
panel, and click user accounts. Then click "Turn User Account Control on or
off" You'll need to click through another pop-up, though...

Regarding start menu links, yes they all are created by the programs. the
problem is VIEWING them in "explore all users" is not visible. How do I fix
that?

No offence, but it sounds like you don't have a clue what you're doing
with the software. Why download and install buggy beta software if you
can't figure out the basics on your own?

And if you search here and/or Google, you'll find all the answers to
every question you have. You need to read up more about Vista before
you can use and evaluate it.
