Urgent Windows Elporer Help Needed

Posted: 01-14-2009, 11:55 PM
I didn't think that WE had it's own group so I posted here (and Excel)

Excel 2007 (2003 .xls format)

I just opened a spreadsheet and on doing so I am not sure it is the one that
I want. I could tell this by the date it was modified last. Upon looking
with Windows Explorer under the "Date modified" column it gives today's
date! It is not giving the date of last modification but the date of last
opening.

How can I find this out please. It is very important.

Thanks in advance... Bob

Did you consider right-mouse clicking on the file and choosing Properties?

The Excel group came up with the answer. For some reason Windows Explorer
will show todays date if you check it while the file is open but if you
close without saving it will reset to the correct modified date.
