USB device detection after restoring image

Posted: 07-16-2004, 10:01 PM
Hi,

I have been encountering some problem with the USB port in
windows XP and 2000 recently.

Here is what happened.

We had installed some device drive (i.e. printer) which
has the USB connection. It works fine and than we saved
image of the machine using pqdi.

We restored the image saved onto the machine and when it
first boot up, with the device connected, it cannot detect
the device (printer). but the problem can be resolved by
unplugging and then plugging in the USB cable back,
treating it as detecting a new device and get the driver
load in again.

We have tried different similar usb driver which work with
similar behaviour.

May I know if there is a known issue on similar situation
for the USB port in Windows XP and Windows 2000.

Regards,

Kenric
